How does the AI actually work?

When a ticket arrives, Beamdesk analyzes the question and selects the best AI model for that specific conversation. It searches your knowledge base and past tickets for context, then drafts a response. You set a confidence threshold — above it, responses send automatically. Below it, they queue as drafts for your team to review. The AI learns from every correction.

What makes Beamdesk different from Zendesk or Intercom?

Three things: First, Beamdesk uses 13 AI models from 5 providers and routes each ticket to the optimal one — you get the best answer at the lowest cost. Second, custom AI tools let the AI call your APIs (check orders, reset passwords) during conversations. Third, all 8 channels (WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram, etc.) are included on every plan — no add-on fees.

What are custom AI tools?

You define API endpoints in the Custom Tools page — give them a name, URL, parameters, and description. The AI then has access to those tools during ticket processing. For example, when a customer asks "what's my subscription status?", the AI can call your billing API, get the answer, and respond — all without a human.

Is my data secure?

Yes. All data is stored in Supabase with Row Level Security. AI processing happens via the Anthropic API with zero data retention — your tickets are never used to train models. We support EU hosting and are on the path to SOC 2 compliance.

Can I migrate from my current helpdesk?

Yes. We have CSV import for tickets and contacts, email forwarding setup for seamless transition, and an API for custom migrations. Most teams are fully migrated within a day.

How do AI credits work?

Each AI resolution costs credits based on which model handles it. Simple questions (1 credit) use fast models like GPT-4.1 Nano. Complex issues (10 credits) use premium models like Claude Sonnet. Beamdesk automatically picks the best model — you don't choose manually. Each plan includes a monthly credit allowance, and you can buy more in packs of 100. A spend cap prevents surprise bills.
